hey i am going to school soon for game design, i was wondering if anyone here knew what a good program is for 3d modling and stuff like that is. u know that with designing characters and stuff. if some one could let me know it would be a big help.

Yes, it's a program, many of the game design colleges use it.

Milkshape is a good one. I used it to make Space Ship Models for a game called Freelancer.

Maya's great for designing characters, and working with character animation and structure. Another great program is 3-d Studio max, which I think it at version R-8 right now. It can produce high quality scenes and images with virtually no limit.

Of course, neither of these will be cheap. Expect to pay a thousand or so, depending on if you get any bargains.

There is an open source prog called Blender and it's free.
